About Karee
MEET KAREE
Karee Davidson grew up in Northern Ontario but has lived in Saskatoon since 1994. She has been photographing people and places for approximately 20 years. Her love of life and ability to capture the spirit of a person or a moment is what makes her unique in the Saskatchewan photographic community.
Karee graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 1994 with a 4-year Diploma in Visual Arts majoring in Photography. Since then she has built a successful, well established photography business in Saskatoon.
Karee's technological abilities, which include Graphic and Web Design, have enabled her to embrace the digital medium fully. All Karee's photographic work is digital in format but maintains the same depth and range of emotion associated with traditional photography.
Portraits comprise the bulk of Karee's work and because she does not operate out of a studio, all her photography is done on location. With a respect for conventional photography it is her intent to capture the true spirit of her subjects while keeping her photography as honest as possible. December 2008 marked Karee's 99th wedding since starting her company in 2002! It is her candid images of a wedding day unfolding that endear her to her clients. From the preparation of the bride to the nervousness of the groom, Karee manages to highlight the emotions of everyone involved in the day while maintaining the highest quality of final product.
Karee is constantly working to improve her technique and range of ability. Her family and 12 year old Labrador Retriever named Chase allow her to experiment and are among her favourite informal subjects.
Above all, Karee is an energetic, spirited person who likes to capture the same in others and does so with panache and a style all her own.
